The sunny school building of Drita is situated near the Vitosha Mountain. The students study in 15 spacious, comfortably equipped classrooms and studies. In the modern computer study with an Internet access the children attain proficiency in the use of new technologies and ways of communication.
In their free time the students may use the school library, the gym and the playgrounds.
There is also a school buffet, a bookshop, a canteen and a consulting room. The students who are at a will may take the advantage of the school transport.
School day
I – IV grade
The school day starts at 8.30 am and finishes at 5 pm. In the afternoon our pupils have their classes of sport, arts and self-preparation.
V – VII grade
The school day starts at 8.30 am. On Monday and Friday it finishes at 5 pm, while on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday it ends at 2. 25 p.m.
Education
Education at Drita is accomplished on three levels:
compulsory general educational minimum underlying the syllabus of the Ministry of Education;
enlargement of the necessary minimum of knowledge and creation of conditions for applying it in different practical situations;
taking into consideration the individual interests and abilities of the students.
The work is structured in such a way that it suits the following requirements:
- competitive education;
- high criteria of control and assessment;
- various techniques and methods of teaching;
- interdisciplinary connections;
- obligatory acquirement of the school minimum / if the results are below 4.50 the teachers work with the students individually /
- school tests at the end of the term and the school year;
- special tests for 5th and 8th grade;
- individual and group work on school projects and research work / at least twice a year /
- use of modern technical equipment for the students’ training and individual work;
- providing possibilities for communication and interaction with peers and teachers.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES
At Drita foreign languages are central to students` learning. The main foreign language taught from the kindergarten to the fourth form is English. From the fifth form our students may choose between German, Italian, Russian and Spanish.
The foreign language teaching aims at achieving communicative and language competence that allows the students to freely express themselves, their ideas and opinion and take part in discussions in the language taught.
At the end of every school year as a part of the language education our students apply for the Anglia Examination Syndicate test of English. The highest level of this test gives the opportunity to study and work in an English-speaking environment.
Summer schools in Britain, school correspondence with classes from all over the world and project work are of great importance for our teaching process.
Part of the school curriculumn are the international school projects, school correspondence with classes from all over the world, summer language courses and summer schools in Britain.
Art classes have a special place in the school syllabus of Drita. Our pupils use different materials, learning the main rules of the art of painting, printing and sculpture.
Music classes include singing, rhythmic, dancing, solfeggio, theory and history of music.
Another possibility for the students to show their creativity is the variety of workshops offered at Drita. The children may choose from the school newspaper workshop, the theatre or dance workshop, working in the computer center etc.
Sport is a vital part of every young person’s education and so is compulsory at Drita. Sport develops physical fitness and a love of physical activity, teamwork, pride in the group, a sense of fair play, self – confidence. The syllabus includes:

- Mountain expeditions
- Adventure camps.
Drita regularly takes part in tournaments and competitions.
A qualified staff of teachers specialized in Great Britain, France, Germany, Russia and Austria works and takes care of the pupils.
All student`s books are given by the school. Their prise is included in the fee.
At Drita we value the contacts with the parents of our pupils – individual and class meetings, regular written information, continous contacts. Ruled by our mutual aims we assure timely feedback and so build our upright relations.
